Start With the Basics!
There is nothing basic about the ending results of this look! The focal point of the makeup is the eyeshadow design. The colors STAND OUT individually and blend together effortlessly. My favorite detail is the glitter, of course. As a lover of shimmer and shine, the glitz was a no brainer for this look.
The key to creating this fun eye look is starting with a great base. All great eyeshadow looks are prepped with a smooth, uniformed surface. The foundation of your eyeshadow will help prevent creasing on your eyelids throughout the day.
There are several options. The most popular eyeshadow base application I’ve seen and used is the concealer method. This is a quick way to segue from concealing your brow bone to prepping your eyelids for a beautiful masterpiece. The concealer primes the eyelids and allows the eyeshadow pigments to pop!
A tried and true base application is eyeshadow primer.
Eyeshadow primer allows your eyeshadow to lock on to your eyelids. The product gives the eyeshadow a smooth base. This is important to create an effortless blend between different eyeshadow colors.

K22 TIP :
I understand the convenience of using the concealer as your foundation base, but I will always recommend an eyeshadow primer. The key factors to this product are the longevity and quality results of the overall eye look overtime.
Have Fun!
Don’t freak out. Have fun! I will keep things simple from now on.
Once you apply the base to your eyelid, it’s time to think of at least two colors you would like to wear. Choose a color besides black and brown, unless you’re desire is to achieve a smokey eye look, these colors will be incorporated to outline your natural eye shape.
Your options are endless. You can pair any two colors together to create the perfect eye look. My inspiration for eyeshadow color schemes begins with an idea. Wherever you may find inspiration, cling to it! This is the guideline for your eye design.
What tools are you using to apply eyeshadow? Not everyone has the same applicators. While I’ve used Q-tips and my finger tips to apply eyeshadow, brushes are the most common tools used to apply eyeshadow. The bristles attached to the wand of the brush evenly distributes the eyeshadow product onto the eyelids. Brushes also take the guessing work out of your blending techniques.
Own it!
You’re holding your brushes as you stare at the colors you’ve chosen. Now, it’s time to own it.
The next step is to take action and assemble your eyeshadows. After prepping the eyelids and choosing my colors, I place the transition shade below my brow bone and slightly above my eye socket. Everyone’s transition shade is unique to their complexion. Keep this step simple by using your powder foundation.
Once the transition shade is applied, it’s time to decide which color to apply out of the two you’ve chosen. I typically save the color with the brightest hue and pigment for the center of my eyelid. This immediately makes the color the center of attention for the entire eye look.

K22 TIP :
Before creating the wing eyeliner, use the black pencil to line the lash line on your eyelid. This step will ensure the visible skin between your lashes are cohesive with the overall eye look.
