Long Lasting Luscious Lips

I begin my makeup routine with skin prep. Once I’ve added primer and base, I move on to moisturizing my lips. If I experience extremely dry, chapped lips, I gently apply lip scrub before moisturizing. The perfect lip scrub exfoliates flaky skin without harming your lips. Compared to other lip scrubs I’ve used, Mary Kay has the absolute best user friendly exfoliator. Between being easily portable and extremely effective, Mary Kay’s satin lip scrub softly removes unwanted skin. After exfoliating the grimy particles off my lips, a smooth surface has been created and my lips are ready to lock in moisture.

Lip moisturizers come in many different forms depending on your need. My go to lip moisturizers are cocoa butter, chap stick, or unscented body lotion. Once I’ve prepped my skin and moisturized my lips, I’m usually ready to jump the gun on the entire makeup look and head straight for a jaw dropping lip combination. After toying with this idea, I snap back into reality and begin my traditional makeup routine- eyebrows, eyeshadow, foundation, and blush. The next step is the most anticipated of them all – LONG LASTING LUSCIOUS LIPS.

Plump. Full. Pouty. Sultry. Thin. Juicy.

Whichever description suits your fancy is your decision. Personally, I am a die hard fan of a lip combination that gives both plump and sultry. To ensure my lip creations meet both criteria, I start by lining my lips with liner a few shades darker than the lipstick/gloss I intend to use. As I outline my lips, I focus the product on the natural line of my lips. Using a q-tip, lip applicator, or finger, I blend the product toward the center of my lip. This step is the key to a well blended, long lasting lip combination. Following the lip liner is the lip stick or gloss of choice. I have a nagging habit of coating clear lip gloss on top of the lip liner to create a simply plump, edgy combination. Although this lip combo does not require much thought or technique, the effortlessness to achieve it will leave you and your audience in awe.

When I choose to go for a classic lip combo, I apply a lipstick shade that pairs well with my lip liner. I start by swiping the lipstick on my bottom lip.Once I’ve coated my lip in lipstick, I rub both lips together. This motion transfers and blends the lipstick evenly on my lips. As I blend the lipstick throughout my lips, I apply more lipstick as needed to achieve the plump, sultry look I desire.
