A Kiss On the Cheeks

A kiss on the cheeks.

My favorite drug store product is blush! There is nothing like sealing a natural or full glam look with an accentuating, charming effect on the dimples of your cheeks. From the decorative packaging, to the PERFECTLY POTENT POP of color it adds to any makeup look, these conveniently accessible Drug Store Gems provide the priceless, princess look we all strive to achieve.

Th above product can be found at any local drug store: Walgreens, CVS, Target, etc. I frequently purchase this product from Walgreens because of it’s price point and accessibility. Walgreens is coming in hot with the most cost efficient Milani blush palette provided by the drug stores listed above. Aside form my obsession with acquiring Walgreen’s reward points, I appreciate this drug store’s effort to place their makeup section in the most attainable areas in their store.

Are you shocked by the price difference between the baked powder blush at Walgreens and Target? Well, me too! I understand the popularity and high demand of the “Target” lifestyle, but why rob the pockets of your consumers? No matter which drug store you choose to purchase this product, it will be worth your while and dime. The design of this product is portable and comes with a mirror built into the case. The pigmentation compacted in this hand held product is surprising and will effortlessly cling to any base makeup application.

The shade of blush used in the picture is Bella Rosa (#11). I love the rich red color this makeup product has, along with the pink accents. There is no question about how well this product performs with the right base application. Many makeup beginners and gurus typically apply blush after foundation, concealer, and contour. This is the makeup norm- the final accent to achieve that whimsical look all the girls will rave over! In this picture, I tested two different methods in order to see how the product would perform under both conditions. On the left side, I simply brushed Milani’s baked powder blush on to my forearm until it was pigmented to my desire. After five applications, the blush was perfect. On the right side, I decided to apply my favorite prep and prime makeup product before using my blush brush to test Milani’s baked powder blush. Although this method is not my typical blush application, I was impressed by how well the Milani blush looked after one layer. This trick was exactly what the baked powder blush needed to show it’s true qualities- pigmentation and precision.

I used the Milani baked powder blush in the shade of Bella Rosa on my most recent makeup muse, Mrs. Tracy Washington Wells, and could not be any more pleased with how great the product completed the look. Can you imagine how basic this natural makeup look would have been without the enchanting compliments of pigment on her cheeks? The best part is how well it compliments her skin complexion without clashing with the natural undertones of her Melanin. This pop of reddish, pink accent adds the perfect kiss of color to the cheeks. I am pleased with Milani’s efforts to provide quick, quality makeup products at the local drug stores in my area and their baked powder blush will always be the perfect drug store gem in my book.
